Van Duzer Vineyards

31 03 2011

Simply put, my favorite local winery!  I’m always a fan of a great Pinot Noir, this specific bottle being my favorite of all of their offerings.

Here is how Van Duzer describes this wonderful wine.  They can do it far more justice than I can!

A swirl of the glass elicits aromas of lavender and the exotic yellow spices of cumin, turmeric, clove and coriander. Hints of fresh red cherries and dusty earth complement the initial impression. In the tasting, the Wädenswil grape registers as a focused beam of red cherry fruit that widens as the wine moves to the mid-palate where spices and earthy undertones emerge. The texture is lush and broad, bordering on velvety. The wine lingers to a finish of pie cherry pit and vanilla.
